Cape Ann Collectors is the collaboration of three Gloucester artists who bring together decades of experience studying Cape Ann history, collecting Cape Ann fine art, and managing art galleries in greater New England.
Our Mission:
Our mission is to find, love, restore, and display historically and artistically significant works by prominent Cape Ann artists. We seek to celebrate the wealth of creativity, artistry, and history on Cape Ann, while providing collector quality art at affordable prices. Our hope is that our gallery will provide a welcoming destination for those who may want to learn more about Cape Ann and its art history, find inspiration in the work of some of Cape Ann’s most notable artists, add to their personal collection, or just sit and relax.
Our Artists:
Cape Ann has been home (and second or third home) to thousands of talented artists over centuries. While we find inspiration in almost all of them, our collection focuses on the artists who have made the most significant lasting contributions to the Cape Ann artistic legacy. You will find the names of our artists featured in the Cape Ann Museum, the Boston Museum of Fine Art, the Museum of Modern Art, the Library of Congress, the National Cathedral, and numerous other well-known, critically-acclaimed collections.
Our Team:
Owner – Ann Ziergiebel. One of Gloucester’s greatest enthusiasts of Cape Ann art, Ann is responsible for instilling a love and passion of Cape Ann art to multiple generations through her work in the Gloucester Public School system. Over three decades, Ann encouraged students to develop their own artistic spirit by finding and sketching in the locations where Fitz Henry Lane and other Cape Ann artists famously worked.
Director – Janet Ware. A lifetime collector of Cape Ann art, Janet lent her considerable knowledge and talent to the Cape Ann Museum as a board member and literary contributor. In addition to her continuing contributions to the educational community and her ongoing dedication to philanthropic causes, Janet’s own multi-media artwork has achieved wide and popular acclaim within a broad reach of the greater Cape Ann community.
Manager – Molly Anderson. Molly blends her lifetime love affair with the New England coast with the knowledge gained as gallery manager at a prominent fine art gallery specializing in New England artists. Experienced in acquisitions and appraisals, she has now turned her focus to finding Cape Ann art dispersed throughout the country and bringing it home.
