Folly Cove, Loblolly Cove, Pirates Cove, Plum Cove… Over eons, glacial forces and ocean pressures notched scallop-edged coves laying like pearls of a necklace around Cape Ann’s rocky coast. Secretive, stunning, and slightly mysterious, these coves lured fishermen, sailors, stone cutters, and artists for generations… And they still exert a gravitational pull on humans, similar to how the moon still fills and empties each crescent shore with a flood of seawater on each turn of the tide…
“The Coves of Cape Ann” opens Saturday and Sunday, August 10-11, 2-6 p.m., and runs Saturdays, 1-5 p.m. through September 7 (appointments welcome, 978-430-0414).
