Summer Breeze

The sister of Emile Gruppé, and youngest child of Charles P. Gruppé, Virginia studied under her father and
became a noted watercolorist. Her works, however, are rare, in contrast to the prolificacy of her artist family
members. She was born in Holland and her soulful use of watercolor in ocean and sky are reminiscent of her father’s European paintings.
